You can import text messages through the Import tool as an activity. Once imported, you can segment down on text messages data by going to Audience > Segments > Activity > Text Message.

Step 1: To import text messages in Crowdskout, first, make sure that your CSV is formatted correctly to import. There are eleven fields that can be imported for a text message:

  • Date Text Messaged -- this needs to be formatted in numeric form such as ##/##/####
  • Text Message Sender -- this is a custom text field and can have anything in it
  • Text Message Content -- this is a custom text field and can have anything in it
  • Text Phone Carrier -- this is a custom text field and can have anything in it
  • Text Message Recipient Number -- this needs to be formatted in numeric form such as ###-###-####
  • Text Message Sender Number -- this needs to be formatted in numeric form such as ###-###-####
  • Text Message Delivered -- the values for this can be either "Unknown," "Yes," or "No"
  • Text Message Read -- the values for this can be either "Unknown," "Yes," or "No"
  • Text Message Replied -- the values for this can be either "Unknown," "Yes," or "No"
  • Text Message Reply Content -- this is a custom text field and can have anything in it
  • Text Message Campaign -- this is a custom text field and can have anything in it

Step 2:
Once you have finished formatting your file, save it as a CSV and drag/drop your CSV to the import tool. Map each column to each field in the Import Tool and when you come to the columns with text message information, select from the drop-down menu under Activity > Text Message

Click on the Text Messages folder to get these mapping options:

Add a global column to any text message field that applies to the entire import. For example, if your entire file has a "Text Message Sender" as "Alex Tracy" you can apply that sender to the entire file. Click "Make Global Value" as seen here and add the Text Message Sender in the next column.

Step 3:

Once you’ve finished mapping out your CSV, proceed with inspecting, processing, and importing the file.

Once your file has imported, each text message will show up in the Activity timeline in a profile.
